Q & A

I have had a few emails and questions in the comments the last weeks. Here are a few of them and my answers:

Mel : The 366 mini book is a mini book I made for holding my photos of the one photo a day in 2008. It is a super simple book I made of to pieces of cardstock that I covered with patterned paper. I punched 2 holes so I can put book rings as a binding. Easy to open up to add all the photos.

Inge: I am going to Holland for my birthday (February 22nd) to visit a friend. I have emailed you and we just have to meet up!

Karoline: I have a Bind it all that I bought at Claes Ohlson for 349:- It works perfectly and I am happy that I bought it!

Gillian: I am not in Anna´s flickr group and I can´t come up with a good answer for why I am not :) But I am checking her blog for some inspiration.

Mindi: The tree stamp on one of my weekly cards are Hero Arts stamps. They are 4 and called Maple Blocks. I have made a few layouts using them.

I wanted to share my inspiration boards that I cleaned out for the new year:

The quote was in Cathy Zielske´s book and it goes like this:

“Above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed: I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was happy. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that´s why I made works of art.” – Felix Gonzales-Torres

This is my bedside and I am adding photos and such all the time.

Ali Edwards book came to me today! I haven´t had the time to even just flip through it, but I know that it is good, it has to be :) I am going to sit myself on the couch and read it right now :)

Ok, so now the second week of the year has come and let´s see how I did on that list of things to do for myself (Sarah Bowens week 1 challange):

1, Clean out my inspiration board! (done!)
2, Go for walks. (done! but could have gone on more!)
3, Read my book. (done!)
4, Go window shopping in town.
5, Rest. (done!

The windowshopping thing I didn´t do, but I guess that is beccause I wanted to rest more :)

The other night I wipped a little traveljournal together for when I am going on my trip to Holland. It is easy peasy, but fun. I used a black cardboard binder which I cut in half to use as the acctual book.

You can see the rest here and there are some instructions too. Tell me what you think!

Ashley Wrens Overlooked blog started today and I just jumped in for the heck of it :) Todays prompt was to take a photo of your coffee cup and then Ashley will promt us to make other things this week. We´ll see!

I have been doing really good on the journaling and photo taking every day so far! I feel proud of myself! I feel proud also that as of today I haven´t eaten meat in 7 days. And I still don´t miss it! I turned vegetarian with the new year (I eat fish)just to see if it would make me feel any better. I have read in so many different places that people feel so good when they don´t eat meat, so I thought ok, why not. I´ll keep you posted :) Oh, and for the photo a day thing, I have set up flickr set and you can follow the link in the sidebar to check it out :)

Just a quick on today!

weekend

Slow saturday over here on the island...nice. I woke up with a migraine and it has made me slow the whole day. I think it is because of dreaming I was in the Bourne Ultimatum movie all night :) My husband went out of town to see a hockey game, so it is me the pets and the daughter for the weekend. I managed to fix a playdate for the daughter which ment that I can have a playdate too! In my craftroom that is! I made a few layouts,

but really the thing for today was to make a few cards for Emilys weekly cards. I know that technically I am still on week one but I think they are fun to make, so I made a few more!

Week 1: Something you are proud of

I am very proud of my daughter.

Week 2: what is powerful to you

I chose knowledge.

Week 3: I am

well, lately I am tired :)

Week 4: a symbol that you love

An international one :)

I had a lovely time scrapping and listening to some older podcast from
Divacraft lounge which made scrapping even better! Although the voices of the people I "know" through this hobby and the internet always suprises me. For example; Jennifer McGuire always struck me as a mellow kind of girl, you know the very sweet almost shy girl. Well I am happy to say that she sounded very spunky in her podcast :)

I am still going strong with the photo a day and I am enjoying my flickr contacts photos too! I am working on a little binder for my 365 or really it will be (hopefully) 366 photos this year. It is fun!

I´ll be back! Don´t forget to give me some comments love :)

This is my list of things I want to do for myself this week and the list of things I will do for myself :) This is ofcourse for Sarah Bowens "Your best self" challenge week 1.

1, Clean out my inspiration board!
2, Go for walks.
3, Read my book.
4, Go window shopping in town.
5, Rest.

I started my journal for 2008 last night and I loved it! I am sure that there will come days when I feel that this will be diffivult, but for now I am loving it! Therefore my photo of the day is this:

I made this layout for the KI blog challenge and I love that too :)

My first photo of the day (which was a cheat because it was taken on december 31st!) was one where we took a "hold-out-your-aarm" photo and my husband kissed me on the cheek. When I first saw it I said: loved = älskad in swedish. So I already had the title for this layout!

I bought a bind-it-all right before New Years and I have tried it out! I wanted one where I could use wirebinding, but there were only ones with plastic binding, but that is ok. I used photos from a nice day in may 2007 and made a minibook for my daughter. Nothing fancy at all.

Ok this was just a quick one for today!

Happy new beginning!

I loved Ali´s idea of cleaning of her bulletin boards fresh for the New Year. It feels so fresh and like I want to pull up my sleeves and start a big new project! And in a way I am really. With all these really cool inspiration blogs popping up for 2008 there are a lot of new projects to jump in on. Gigi Kennedy had a great little list of cool things you can join. They all sound very yummy, but I feel like I have to limit myself or otherwise I won´t pull through one of them. So, I am joining:

Courtney DeLauras project-five-two.

Emily Falconbridge`s 2007 card prompts are in a folder on my computer, maybe just maybe I will do them this year instead of 2007.

Sarah Bowen`s project ( I am not committing to doing everything, but the inspiration is high!) And I am thinking of that first challenge right now (List 5 things you want to to for yourself this week!).

Ans since I am doing the photo a day thing Annie´s blog is going in my favorites.

But for right now I am going to start my new bulletinboard and also start a happiness wall at my bedside. Here are the before photos :)

And Shannon Tidwell had a family portrait challenge on the KI blog that I am going to use this photo for!

We took this photo in the bathroom mirror just before we headed out for the New Years celebration yesterday!

2007 recap

This is my year recap in layouts! These are my favorite layouts from this year.

January:

I choose this one because of the photos mainly and the overall memory.

February:

Maybe not the best layout I have made, but I loved that my 2 favorite people in the whole world gave me such a nice birthday kiss :)

March:

I remember that I snapped this photo of these 2 best buds when the light through the window was just divine...

April:

I love love love this photo of our Chanty boy may he rest in peace...

May:

My daughter got into a nasty bike accident which resulted in stitches and a lot of tears. I snapped these photos a few days after and I love her goofy little self :)

June:

I made this simple minibook of my favorite photos of the year with my daughter and me.

July:

Again used one of those loved photos. This is one of the layouts that I have lifted for other layouts this year.

August:

Ah, the crazy few days that we had 3 dogs!!! Unfortunatly we had to return Rocky, but he was such a nice dog.

September:

Here I used a little Love, Elsie together with my favorite photo of me and my husband from the year 2007.

October:

My life categories. I acctually took this layout with me to my therapist and she read all sorts of things into what I had listed :) But I love that my life is full.

November:

A fun layout with a fun photo of me and my crazy daughter. We laid the camera on the ground and set the timer :)

December:

This layout made the catwalk last week over at SIS and that made me smile ´cause this was the first thing I scrapped in a month!

My friends, I wish you all so much love & happiness for the New Year!!! love you!

Ps. I cheated and started the 365 photos in 2008 today :) Check my flickr gallery!
