happy snowy saturday

we have had snow now the whole week and i am loving all of it! well, ok the fact that my husband had to work due to the snow and didn´t come home for 2 straight days wasn´t that fun, but everything else is cool. i was thinking about how much the weather has changed since i was a kid. it seemed to always be snow in the winter then. now we are lucky to have snowdays for a month or even weeks every winter!

sadie loves the snow too! she always has snow on her nose when she´s out :)

we are having a nice day at home today, just laying around the bunch of us. it is such a nice feeling to have no plans! just a few minutes ago...

sally and sadie loves slow days...dixon on the other hand...has a to-do list :)

(wake up, stand by daddys bed and bang tail against the wall, follow daddy around the house, stand suprised by the door when daddy leaves for work, jump up in daddys bed, become extatic when mommy rises, squeel after the kitten, lay on the couch with mini-mummy, watch tv, check the kitten, carry stuff around, eat & wag tail, pick up the food bowl, jump up and down, run out, bite something, play with the cats, "make" a bed or two, lovingly bite the kitten, sit in lap and lick someones ear...and just be wonderful!)

last night i put "mama mia" on the dvd and scrapped a few things in the meanwhile :)

like this one about my 2. my world. my little family :)

i will be back later with a winner of the TOSGA!

last night our daughters school celebrated 40 years and they had a party and open house. they had picked out quite a few older items, such as photoalbums and old technology. the school has 2 new active boards and they are very much used!

the kids had a spectacular show and our daughter sang a short solo in english :)

i wore my new dress that i love!

i am in a giving mood, as i am quite often :) so in a kelli crowe">/a> spirit Happy first TOSGA! That means: Thursday Old Stuff Give Away!

måndag 8 december 2008

i have been enjoying to make stuff in my december journal! it is fun to just add stuff here and there whenever i feel like it. yesterday i made an entry about making christmas candy (yum!) and i thought i´d share a quick how-to for you all:

1 dl cream
1 dl baking syrup
1 dl sugar
0,5 dl almonds
butter or margarine
tiny paper baking tins

put out your tiny paper baking tins on a tray (about 30-40 of them). Mix the cream, baking syrup and suger in a container that you can later heat up in the microwave. Run the micro for 5 minutes on full effect. Chop the almonds in the meantime. Take the container out of the mirco and stir. Then run the microwave for 4 more minutes. Mix in the almonds and then quickly pour the mixture into the baking tins.
I use to put the tray in the fridge for a while so that the candies get hard.

oh, and i am sorry mindi, this is nothing for you right now ;)

Ps. i am very very sorry about the crappy photos!

lördag 6 december 2008

yes, i did have a lovely creative day today. i got so much done!

the other day i journaled what i did at work...the list could be longer! as a kindergarden teacher you are really a multi-tasker!!!
the layout is very much a hybrid project. i did all the journaling in WORD and printed that and the photos seperate. but before i printed the journaling i inserted the photos in that document so i could see how everything would fit together. i would have printed it all together, if i hadn´t chosen a kraft paper as backgound paper.

my sister wanted a whole day shopping spree without kids, husband and cell-phone. so i made this gc for her! i included company, lunch, coffee and laughter or a baby/husband/cellphone sitter...i am hoping for the first alternative :)

it is a hybrid project where the computer work was made in Photoshop and printed in WORD and the handmade touch is the bling bling :)

i also made an evelope-package to put the gc in :) lovely wrapping paper, eh?! i love the colors!

voila! my super duper simple version of the winter wonderland in a jar project! all i had that would resemble snow was this lovely white yarn. so i used the cut-of scraps yarn after i made some pom-poms.

i decided to jump on the december daily thing...but with a twist :) i am not going to fool myself in thinking that i will journal e.v.e.r.y. day! so i am adding journaling about such as favorite holiday music and other faves about the season.

i cut a few buisness card holders so that each day will have it´s own pocket but the journaling and photos are just thrown in...

and i acctually made a paper wreath too!

that line is not entirely finished! there will be more little stuff there.

oh, and i made the headboard all christmassy :)

ok, i have to go ready for a lucia party :)

ps.this doggie post is to die for! the cutie remind me of my sadie so much!

happy december

wow, december already! time just flies away! and my time blogging is really too. i have been sitting here by the computer several times this weekend, but 1) my internet connection has been so S.L.O.W and 2) i have had a really hard time to get some scraps on and i cannot understand why! i love scrapbooking and i really want to continue to do it, but i guess right now i have other crafts that have my intrest more...i have been working hard with the newsletters, crafts for christmas gifts etc. maybe after the time after the holidays are going to be better for scrapbooking... although i have a hard time putting anything onto paper i have started a few layouts this weekend.

the first snow is always so nice. and i really wanted to memorize that. i went with a super simple layout.

i also started this one with a circle theme.

i know that my scrapbooking is much about the acctual memory, but the journaling is so hard lately. i am like "why do i want to remember this?" and "it happened a week ago and i still remember it, i will always do!" i know, yeah right!
i know for sure i would not have remembered this conversation i had with my daughter a few years ago, if i hadn´t taken the time to write the story down.

i am really happy that i did
this album

and this one too...

or this one where i journaled about how much my dog sadie means to me.

but i love layouts like this, where the layout is really infocus. i love to play with paper and glue :) i do!

i found this photo in my camera and it can be interesting to scrapbook :)

Share!
