virtual coffee - first of 2011

welcome to the very first virtual coffee of the new year! how fun that you stopped by!
if we were to meet for some coffee today, we would eat some homemade candy that we still have left from christmas :) i hope that you don´t mind!

if we were to meet for coffee today, i would talk about my shop that i reopened yesterday. i would talk about how much i hesitated before even take the step to actually make any products to sell. there were so many thoughts going through my head when me and my husband had a talk about selling stuff i make. i lack self-confidence in the sense that i am not sure people will think that my products are something they would buy. and there are so many talented sellers on etsy already.

but then again, you all give me lovely comments on stuff i make, so why not try to sell a few items?!

so, if we were to meet for coffee today, i would tell you that i took a chance and created some products and added a few items to the shop. i mean really, what is the worst that would happen? i know i will be happy that i took the plundge!

if we were to meet for coffee today, i would happily tell you that i made my fist sell today :) it was a 2 dollar product, so i didnt make a ton of money :) but really, it made me so happy that someone thought that my stuff was something they liked and wanted to use.
i would also samelessly show you what i sold :)

it is my Love flashcards. actually i made a custom order, but the words were somewhat the same as these:

love
us
together
forever
kiss
hug
valentine
mine
we
dream

and i would show you how i used them myself in paper projects:

here in a minibook.

and this flashcard is from the Everyday flashcards .

if we were to meet for coffee today... i would talk alot about my shop :)

Lisa Ottosson on etsy

yes, i have re-opened my etsy shop! my husband had a few peptalks with me and i jumped on it :) it is a leap of faith to open a place where you offer things you have made for sale. i have a butterfly or two in my tummy as i write this!

You can find a few items in the shop right now, and i will be adding more as time goes.
the shop has both prints that are mailed out and pdf downloads. for example:

i did one for my family a while ago and i love it so much where it hangs in our hallway. i thought, why don´t offer somejoy for someone else too!
this is an example of an item that will be sent to you by mail. After you buy it, you email me with your details; family name, est. year and the color scheme you would like.
i then print and craft your item as soon as possible!

or

i always look for good templates for making banners. i made one that you can print as is and embellish as you please or use as a template for your paper or fabric banner!
here is one i made using this item

i hope that you will find something that you like in the shop!

the simple things #8

i love this photo of our oldest cat sleeping by the tree. i know that the photo isn´t very well composed and is really dark, but perhaps that is why i love it?!

January gallery at Write.Click.Scrapbook

i am blown away by the layouts in January´s Write.Click.Scrapbook gallery! wow!
this months theme is to use black and white photos and i love how everyone interpreted and used their lovely black and white photos!

i used a few of my favorite photos of my sweet daughter from this summer. and i love them so much in color:

and i don´t know, but maybe i chose the pink theme subcontiously since the color versions have a pink theme :)
as i said, they are yummy in color, but i love how they look together with the pink splashes on the layout!

the internet I full of free downloads of generous artists! The patterned paper I used here is a free download by the very lovely Sharilyn Wright, who has been featured  at Write.Click.Scrapbook. as a guest artist. Her blog is a must visit!

isn´t the paper just yummy in it´s colors and pattern?!

and that´s my 3rd layout that i have made for Write.Click.Scrapbook since i became a team member :)

don´t forget to get in on the fun from my last post!

52 photos in 52 weeks 2011

when i was thinking about my new projects for the new year, i also thought of doing something in the area of 365. you know taking a photo a day for the whole year. and as proud i am about finishing a month of daily photos  i know myself well enough to know that there is no way i could do that for an entire year! kudos to everyone doing it though! so, my solution was a 52 week project instead. i contacted my fellow write.click.scrapbook team member and sweet girl Monika Wright to ask her to join me in this challenge! she accepted :)

our challenge is to take our cameras with us as we go on with our days, she in tennessee and me in sweden, and interpret every weeks theme that we have chosen. we hope this will help us come to know eachother and ourselves plus having a fun time playing with our cameras! essentially taking one photo every week of the year having a theme to help us!

won´t you join us?! here are a few things we have done to make it easier for you to join in on the fun!

♥ we've created a blog button, if you'd like to participate with us

♥ we've established a Flickr group for us all to post our photos to...after all it is a journey of discovery and we'll all get to know each other better by how we interpret each week's theme

Monika and I will both post on our individual blogs, as well as in the Flickr group, about 52Photos every Thursday of the year...sharing our photos and also the next week's theme

wanna know the first challenge?
well, to celebrate the new year, we thought we would each take a photo at 20:11 (or 8:11 pm for you americans) on January 1st.

what were you doing then?
did you watch you kids sleep?
did you kick up your feet infront of a good movie?

i can´t wait to see!

a new year (soon) calls for new projects

i love the days before the new year. i go through my posts from the past year. i go through photos and layouts from the past year and it feels so good to make a new folder that says 2011 and put all the 2010 photos in their folder. i also ponder on new projects. everyone know that the new year is perfect for new projects and changes :)

i have a few projects that are going to start on january 1st 2011:

1. i signed up for ali edwards bigpictureclasses class: one little word. as you may know i do choose a word each year, just like ali has done now for a couple of years. and i love that necklace she shared in this post! so i felt i needed to have one too, although i made mine myself :)

i am so looking forward to this class!

2. when i went through our photos for this past year and can you even believe that we had one, yes ONE photo of us all three as a family! i take thousands of photos and i took only ONE of all of us all year?! how is that even possible?! so, i am totally going to do family photos ala tara whitney every month of 2011. cause´ we need that! period!

3. i am also continuing rebecca coopers photo challenge called "the simple things".

4. virtual coffee is also a project i love and will do as often as i can.

and i also have one more cool project that i am doing all 52 weeks of 2011...but i´ll be back about that on january 1st...please join me then!

last pages of the year

i had to record the expression on my daughters face when she opened the gift i made her :)

i loved the way our tree looked the nights before christmas. it made me think that ok, we are ready!

my things to be happy about in december inspired by this post!

i wrote my daughter a letter the day before christmas, cause´ i had been thinking about what she will carry in her heart from her childhood christmas´. i haven´t  shown her the letter yet, but i am so curious of what she will answer! i used the original letter and the letters show better in real life.

and that my friends are the last layouts (i think) for this amazing year!
