Memorykeeping - So cozy

Here is another new layout!

We had such a great time eating and chatting with dear friends one summer night. It felt like magic, it had been a hot day and everyone had gotten sunkissed and had lounged at the beach before. And the food was so good! It was one of the those moments that you want to bottle up!

WCS | Scrapbook Saturday

Today WCS presents the new sketch, palette and cut file for the month.

I made the above layout with the sketch. I also wanted to incorporate the cut file in some way. But since I don´t have a cutting machine I used the good old watercolor masking way.

I took a few of my heart shaped stickers.

And placed them like a border in the lower corner of the page.

Then I painted over the stickers with a grey watercolor.

Just before the paint dried I peeled of the stickers, leaving the heart shapes.

This above is the cut file. I did a layout with these to. But I just printed the heart shape multiple times as a border. Then I handcut the heart and used the negative space and backed it with a patterned paper.

Here is a closer look!

From Pin to reality | Dino iPhone tripod

Hi there! If you are new here, let me quickly explain what these posts are. I love Pinterest! I have 77 boards  with 6939 pins to them ;) and by the time you read this, that number has probably gone up! Now, I am also a crafter, so I decided to make stuff I have seen on Pinterest. Enter the From pin to reality post series! These are where I show you the pin and the finished product that I have made. It´s fun and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn´t ;)

Today I am showing a supersimple DIY inspired by this pin:

Make a Dinosaur Phone Tripod

I had wanted some kind of tripod or stand for my iPhone for a while, but didn´t want (read: I couldn´t afford!) to buy one. So, naturally I searched Pinterest for suggestions. Basically this is a tripod made out of a plastic dino and suction cup.

I bought this little guy at the dollar bin and basically said a prayer and be-headed him...I cut it´s head and front legs of with a sharp knife. If you look closely you can see a line where they had glued him together, so I used that as my guide.

I had a suction cup here at home so I attached it to the front of the dino with my hot glue gun. Boy, is that one of the best Christmas gifts ever! I let it dry and tada!

It works wonderfully! I have used it while listening to podcasts and even while facetiming! This was so simple and costed me about a dollar to make! One of the best things I have made!

Thank you for visiting!

Project Life 2013 | Week 32

I am all aboard with my album this week and can share one week at the time ;) Here is my 32nd week this year and 84th in total!

It was really a quiet and ordinary week. We spend time together all three of us and that always feels so good.
I swam in the lake and that felt like total magic!
My 8 year old nephew posts the most hilarious things to Facebook and I had to include one of his posts this week!
And it seems a new cat has moved in ;)

The last half of the week my daughter went to see her grandmother and cousins. I am thrilled that I have gotten so many updates with pictures!
On Friday we bbq´d and only added meat and corn to the meal, the rest we just picked from the garden!
My youngest nephew got kisses from both his aunts this week!
And we spend a rainy sunday at my sisters house eating crawfish!

That´s it!

Memorykeeping | Siblings

I am scrapbooking so much lately! Saturday for example the weather was a bit bleh, so I decided to do a really big session with my paper and glue and I got a ton of projects done! Doesen´t it feel good to be ahead?!

This page I did before Saturday, but I saw that I hadn´t shared it with you yet. My daughter finally became a big sister in July! Her biological father and his wife had a little boy. I love it! Syskon = siblings
The "You are so very loved" card is from the Midnight edition of Project Life and the circle is from a free printable I found on Pinterest.

WCS | Summertime dailies #3 Scrapping with color

My third summertime daily post at WCS I wrote a little about how I am really not good with clusters. I love them, but have a hard time getting them done! I thought I´d challenge myself to make them using colors.

Before I got to scrapping, I dug out all sorts of small bits and pieces that I thought worked with the color scheme I had selected.

On this page I started with a neutral background and then worked with only shades of yellow. I picked out embellishments and scrap papers to match my scale and started adding stuff. Perhaps you wouldn´t call this cluster since it is the overall color of the page, but as I said before, maybe this can be a good way to start.

For my second example I used a green colorscale. For this I just picked out green shades of scrap paper and grouped them on the right side of my page. One tip when picking a color is to look for a color in your photo and work with that.

I love how these turned out and when I look at them, perhaps you can´t call these big of clusters, clusters, but I guess that is ok :) Maybe it is more colorblocking?
