Re-Scrap 2013 | July inspiration pages

Here are the three older pages I will use as inspiration to make three new scrapbook pages. I call this project Re-Scrap and I started doing three new pages each month using older pages that I liked as inspiration. I have done this since January 2012 and I still love it!

I simply love this hybrid layout. I think my new page will be very true to this design ;)

This is a page I made in July last year.

And here is the Take Twelve page from June 2012! I love the colors and the circle...

I know I will love making three new pages in July!

BPC | The Phone Photography Project Week 1

Last Monday marked the beginning of the Big Picture Class that I am a contributer in: The Phone Photography Project.
I am enjoying to play along with the challenges each day.
Every day a new instructor shares a photo challenges and then there is a smacked full intervju where I have learned a lot of new things.

I thought I´d share my photos here on Mondays. That way I can share 7 (a weeks worth of photos)

If you´d like, you can follow me on Instagram! That would be fun!

From pin to reality | Watercolor resist

I found a cute pin that I wanted to try!

Now, I don´t even know if the source uses the same way of doing it as I am, but I thought of doing a watercolor resist thing when I saw it.

It is really super easy and you can´t even say "but I can´t paint!" because all you have to do is stroke watercolor onto your paper. Use stickers and put them where you want your paper to show.

Take your brush and just stroke your paint out over the whole paper. Let it dry and then carefully peel of the stickers.

Here is the result.

The more paint you use the more your pattern will show. I used stickers that I had a lot of and some that I wouldn´t use on anything anyway. I also used letterstickers to make a garagesale sign and a few journalingcards that I am using in my PL album.

After the paint has dried I could easily journal the info. I hope this will make the posters visable and we have lots of buyers for our garagesale ;)

I will have the journalingcards in a separate post very soon!

It was fun to play with my watercolors and I would totally recommend doing it with kids!

Project Life 2013 | Week 26

Week 26

This weeks first part was spend with my mom and two of my sisters kids as they visited for a few days. We had lots of fun on the beach and exploing the island.
On wednesday it RAINED and rained, bleh!

I asked the kids to draw something for me to have in my PL album. I handed them each a few 10x15 cm cards I cut from white cardstock and this is what they created ;)

I added a collage with more photos from their visit.

On the back of the insert I added our currently cards.

I asked my daughter to share about her visit to my ex on a card. I am trying to come up with more ways I can include my family in PL.
My new loves nephew came for a 3 day visit, but ended up staying a week ;) We have so much fun together!
On the weekend I had my photoexhibit and we had a great time doing family stuff.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love having these records of our everyday?!

Re-Scrap 2013 | June finished pages

Here are my 3 new finished layouts for June´s Re-Scrap challenge.

I added large text to my photo and love the feeling of it. I will do this more when I have a photo with more white space.

Celeste´s page

I stayed pretty true to the inspiration page for this one. I especially like the rounded corners. I used to do that a lot before, but I will do more of it again since I think it adds so much to the design.

Christa´s page

And I decided to do make a double page just like the inspiration page! My pages were difficult to photograph though...But you get the idea! I love looking at houses and while in the US a few years ago, I took a bunch of photos of nice ones when we calked in DC. The Re-Scrap challenge really does inspire me to get that US album done!

WCS | Rainy days

This is a post that was originally posted on the WCS blog

Ok, let me set the scene here...It is late-June in Sweden, we have had a few really nice warm days. Great, right? Yes...until you pull up your weather app and this is what you see...

Yep, rain, rain and oh yes there will be more rain :(
Well, I thought, why not think as an everyday life kinda scrapbooker and make a layout about the things we like to do on rainy days. Said and done! I got up the next day (to a flooded driveway!), ran some errands and then snapped a photo right outside my window.

For a fun title, I decided to trace inside of an old sheet of chipboard alphas to get a template for the title. Then I poked holes and handstitched it.

DSC_0493

I took the stitchingwork with me to the couch and watched The Notebook. :) It didn't take all that long, but you can't just watch half of the movie now, can you?!

I then designed my other elements around the stitched title. Here is the journaling:
Summer in Sweden will always have rainy days, so why not enjoy them. Rainy days are perfect for crafting, reading, TV watching, a few movies and a nap with one of the cats. See, rainy days can be all ok!

Do you experience rainy days where you live during summer? What do you like to do on those days? Have you scrapbooked about it? No? Well, do!
