Magic Monday

these photos were actually taken a few weekends ago, but i wanted to include them in todays magic monday post.

my husband has been on sick leave from work for a long time since his seizure problems late last summer and from his accident before that. by this past autumn he was going insane just staying at home all the time, so he took up fishing. he loves it and i am so happy that he has found something that soothes him and where he can fuel his energy. a few weekends ago we decided i would go with him. 

it was pure magic all the way!

we left home early and came to the place just as the sun was rising and everything was so quiet and calm. we spend the whole day in our small boat just fishing, talking or not talking, just taking in everything. he turned to me and said; this is my sanctuary. do you see why? oh yes, i saw and felt why.

Roadtrip

we took a quick roadtrip to see my husbands brother and his wife this saturday. we only had time to grab a quick lunch, but me and my husband made a whole day out of it. sitting in the car for a few hours, chatting, taking walks trough old cities and watching the clouds. this was exactly what we needed right now!

the new layout! i decided that i didn´t want to copy the old one, but instead taking the big photo and adding the bits and pieces in a cluster.

the new layout. i used 4 of my daughters photographs for this and added a new favorite photo quote. 

To be a photographer, one must photograph. No amount of of book learning, no checklist of seminars attended, can substitute for the simple act of making pictures. Experience is the best teacher of all. And for that, there is no guarantee that one will become an artist. Only the journey matters.

the new layout. i turned the layout vertical this time. i wanted to use these three larger photos that i had already printed and thought that going vertical was the way to go.

this is a project i have wanted to do for a long time. i sometime have troubles with design on my scrapbook pages. well, what troubles me is re-newing myself. i want to try new things, but i 

don´t want to make pages that are not me. and i have done pages i really love, so i thought i´d make it a priority to choose 3 old layouts every month of the year and use them as inspiration for new pages. i mean, i am not re-scrapping the event or page, i am using the entire page and/or some elements of it to use as inspiration. i will share which 3 old layouts i am working with sometime the first week of the month. maybe you could draw some inspiration from them too?!

i wanted to show you my layout in whole from the june gallery.

our theme this month was to pair up with a fellow team member and do a layout inspired by something the other has done. 

my pair was donna januzzi and i had a fun time going through all her projects! finally i fell for this beautiful card she shared on her blog.

i love that big banner and those layered butterflies. 

this page is one of my favorites now, and i am sure you will se these accents on more pages in the future.
