the simple things #17

after a quite eventful week it was so nice to sit and go through my photos searching for this weeks simple thing. the day after my husbands accident i was feeling kinda out of it, so i gathered some scrapbooking supplies and started working on some bits and pieces before i went back to him at the hospital. it just let me think of nothing for a while and doing some of the things i love to do.

updating on layouts

this week has been Celeste Smiths blogging week at WriteClickScrapbook and i have created a few layouts for her. this one below was an ad challenge. you can see more about it in this post!

i know that my daughter is greenish, but it is the Poladroid effect :)

the next challenge was to use a pagemap or template. you could either go digital or paper. i did paper. here is the sketch.

and my layout! i loved how the polaroid photos fitted the sketch :)

and i am so happy with how it turned out!

now, there has been a new gallery on WriteClickScrapbook since march first and i havn´t shared my featured project! the themethis month was to make something that you have been putting up, procrastinate no more :)  here is my project...

We have been living here on our little island for 9 years now. And apart from our actual house, it is the thing that is not in my scrapbooks. I mean this is where we spend most of our time, here on the island, but I have not recorded it once. Shame on me! I love that this month's theme pushed me into making this minibook about our favourite places on the island.

I already had some of the photos printed for something else, and the size of them made me decide to make a mini instead of a big layout!

ok, are you ready for some more scrapbooking?! it´s so strange because i tend to get so many more comments on my other blog posts and then when i post about scrapbooking you all don´t leave any love :(

anywho! let´s start with that cutie that is melvin! this is his first layout in our albums. the story behind how he came to live with us is hidden behind the photo that is adhered to a filefolder kinda.

ofcourse i had to scrapbook the lovely birthday that i had this year :)

i have used some of ali edwards outlined digital stamps on the top of this photo. i am still learning this so i have been playing alot with them.

my daughter took that photo of me on my 32nd birthday. i just jotted down how weird it is that i now put the number 32 behind my name :=)

and yeah, i just love that kraft paper!

she wanted a hand photo too :)

i wrote a bit of what she is all about right now. and oh how i love this format!

again i used some digital brushes at the edge on the photo. hence the title.

Hi there!

I am just popping real quick to share my photo for the week. As you know our prompt was: street.

I have had so much fun looking throught the photos in the flickr group this week! I feel like I know a bit more about you all seeing your streets :)

Our house sits next to the tiniest intersection you can ever imagien :) and the east street is only used by one family so kids are always play there! during the summer the street is full with chalk paintings or water puddles!

This week I love the sight of ice and snow melting in our street :)

The prompt for week 10 of our adventure is:

ok some scrapbooking

thank you all for your well wishes on my last post. my husband is home safe on the couch resting. i keep peeking in just to see him ♥

before i went to the States this past november, i had imagined the typical american street. i had seen them in movies and on TV all my life, so it felt like i had already been there. and the funny thing was that what you see in the movies is just right! the trees on the sides, the lawns infront of the houses...

i can cross this of my bucketlist!

i loved my tourguides! Ali Edwards today template and MM´s different embellishments. and i had some fun with the title :)

it has been crazy cold this winter, but i do like how the lake looks like right now :)

the title of this one says: impressed. that is what i am of my sister that has 3 small kids under the age if 5. she was so calm when we went to the pool the other month. the kids were also very good in the water just bobbing around :)

how life can happen

this is the car my husband was in.

by a shear miracle and works of some serious angels he is ok.

he hit a tree and passed out for a while.

i waited at the hospital. waited and waited.

the ambulance came with him and i rushed to stroke his head.

he was in pain. alot of pain.

the exrays didn´t show any broken bones or internal bleeding.

he didn´t get up out of bed until this morning.

i feel numb but oh so lucky ♥

ps. i had a scrapbooking post planned for today, but i´ll post it later.

virtual coffee

welcome to this weeks virtual coffee!

if we were to meet for real today, i would naturally begin to tell you that the black little dog jumping up on your leg is Melvin our new family member :)

after some weeks of thinking we might want another dog to keep Dixon company and for us to pour our love on :)

the opportunity to meet Melvin showed itself early saturday morning and by lunch we were on our way to Stockholm to meet him. we all hit it of really well from the first second.

if we were really meeting for coffee today, I would tell you that we fell in love with him right away.

if we were meeting up for real today, I would tell you that we had a wonderful time with my sister and brother-in-law when we stayed the night at their place. they live a few miles from where Melvin lived so we stayed close in case they´d call us and say that they ok´d us taking him home ;)

 and they did!

if we were to meet for real today, I would tell you that I am feeling a bit blue. winter blues I guess. I have been seeing blogposts about it everywhere lately. I am ok, but just don´t have the energy to actually do all the things on my to-do list :(
