WCS | The fun layouts

This week Sarah is hosting the WCS blog and her theme is the funny layouts. The funny stories, photos etc. After her 2 first days I went digging in the archives for the past 2 years and found these layouts below.

The story: I was down with the flu and since we couldn´t interact my family entertained me through the door :)

To gte both of these easily distracted dogs to look into the camera all at once is a challenge, I tell you!

Do I need to explain the fun in this layout?!

We were taking family photos on the lawn and had so much fun!

My niece liked my remote that I got for my camera atleast as much as I did, because she took like 200 photos of herself meing silly :)

Our pets are so weird. My husband called me to come to the window one day and showed his Sit niecely trick with both the cat and dog :)

Also, what I found when I went searching for these are that in the last year my layouts (or actually the stories) jave become so much more serious. Not always in a bad way, but deeper kind of. It is always good to make a layout about a fun moment also!

From pin to reality | chalkboard painted table

Wohoo! First From pin to reality post of the new year!

Pinned Image
link to pin

Chalkboard has been "in" for a few years now and I like to add some to random surfaces like a board to write messages on etc. But I have never painted furniture before.
First I had thought of painting our kitchentable, but chickened out ;) So I chose the coffeetable instead.

It is a hand-me-down and a bit worn as your can see. Perfect for a little make over!

I painted it two times and it dried super fast.

Voila! It added such a cool effect in our livingroom!

Project Life | Week 1 2013

Here we go! Week 1!

This is the first page. I added a subway art print and a list of photos I want to take. The feet photos are a instagram project that I did to record my New years Eve.
The rest of the page is dedicated to my daughters and my lists of things we want to focus on during 2013. I slipped our journalingcards right in and added a clear plastic to add the title to.

Here is a view of how the plastic works.

I actually cooked meals (!) 3 days in a row! Just needed to record that! Ha! So I made an extra insert for the Instagram photos.

The second page also  holds some of my daughters hundreds of selfportraits posted to her Instagram :)
The fact that the sun made it out several times this week!
And I baked bread (yum) and had sweet friends over on saturday. I was kind of stumped (thats a first) on what to include in the last pocket, so I added a calender page I downloaded from a pin. They are really full paper size pdf´s but I used the "several pages" option when I printed them out.

Ok, so that´s week 1, only 51 more to go!

Be Brave | One little word

I am not taking Ali Edwards class this year, but it feels good to have a new word to focus on. My word came to me just before Christmas as you can imagine. It was something I repeated to myself like a mantra: Ok, I need to be brave, I need to be brave...
I know that I will need to be brave alot this year as I (and my daughter) face a new chapter in our lives. Clearly I need to be (or atleast act like) brave for her, but also for myself. Now, when I just wrote that last sentence I thought: No! I want to teach her that yes, this breaks my heart and hurts so very much, but it will not breake me. I don´t want to act brave. I will act as an adult and try to explain stuff for her and I also want to teach her that I am going to my very best to be brave and make the best of what life hands me.

One of my favorite quotes about bravery was given to me a long time ago by my Canadian penpal:

"Courage doesn´t always roar. Sometimes it is that quiet voice at the end of the day saying; I will try again tomorrow."

Mary Anne Radmacher

The quote gives a sense of hope to me. Just the thought of that it is not always the big, heroic things that is a sign of bravery, but also the fact that you did your very best.

With that said I must share what my TUT (messages from the Universe) said a few days after I got the news of my husband wanting a divorce:

"In all things, Lisa, always and forever, simply wish the best for all involved without stating what you think that is. And then, whatever happens, know that it was."

Magic I call it! Because even though New Years Eve was a really low point for me, I have been very thoughtful and respectful in the sense of not having ill-feelings  towards my husband nor have I spoken badly about him to others. Simply trying to accept the facts and trying to slowly and quietly move on as best as I can.
Now, don´t give me the Nobel Peace Prize just yet! You never know how I will feel in a month or two :)

And lastly, I want to thank each and everyone of you again for comments, emails and private messages. You all have lifted me up by your encouragement and love. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You all make me a little more brave!

Project Life | the last of 2012

I´ll share the last pages in my 2012 PL album! I am superhappy about making it all through the year!

Week 51

I added a photo from a post I did on easy ornaments, got a shot of my piggy tails ;) our holiday cards were send and we always marvel at the fact that our tree always turns out so beautiful.

My daughter came home with her first grades, my secret santa spoiled me rotten with tons of letter stickers!, the remains of sorrow, snippets of our sunday. We were lazy on the couch and then decided to go out and spread some holiday cheer; we decorated a tree in the forest ;)

Week 52

We celebrated Christmas at my sisters house and it was so nice and quite. I added a few of the cute gift tags and journaling on a seperate card.

At the end of the week we returned back to my sisters to meet up with the other sister, her kids and my mom. I wanted to include more photos from that, so I added in an extra pocket that I folded so it´s kind of a minibook in there.

We went for a little post-christmas shopping on thursday and needless to say my daughter was super happy! She was also extatic over the One Direction box she got :)
Actually this spread is mostly about her being happy, because the next story is about her changing rooms with me to the master bedroom :) One of the few perks of divorce ;)
And lastly a quote I found on Elise´s blog a while back that means so much to me right now.

And that wraps up an entire year of memorykeeping, people!

WCS | January gallery

Not only is it a brand new year, it also time to present a new scrapbook gallery at WCS! The theme for this gallery is Note to self. I have 2 layouts in there this month.

This layout is going to be the first one in my 2013 album. I did this at the beginning of December and for those of you that read a few posts ago know that my life changed since then. My note to self then was: Don´t take anything for granted. Which is ofcourse a  great reminder at any time ;)

This one I did right after Christmas. I found the words on Pinterest and wanted to have it on the page where I journaled about how life is right now.

I tucked the journaling away behind the photo. I searched for a cute thing to embellish the little tag with and came upon a pair of vintage earrings I had thrifted a while ago. Perfect! I attached it as I would a brad and then cut the stem of so it wouldn´t poke wholes in my album.

You should jump over to see the gallery!
