one little word ~ june project

i thought i´d give you a little update on my one little word project that i did for june. this month ali encouraged us to be creative with our word in mind. just do some playing with painting, stamping or whatever and just think about our word and what it represents for us in our thoughts. i freaked a bit at first :) 

then i did just that, just went with the flow and this is what i created.

i had a big canvas laying around and i decided to use several layers of paint. i felt good to have no idea of where i was going with this at first. i worked on it for like a week alowing the layers to dry in between coatings. 

i love that the paint lays thick on the canvas. i also added some texture with some masking. the message is in regards of my one little word: choice. 

maybe, just maybe i am adding some more things to this...

one little word: midmonth update



i thought i´d share afew new things i have worked on for my  one little word project.

first i made a word cluster using wordle.com. i used a lovely post about a choosing ritual from the enjoy parenting site and made the cluster from the words in the article.

i just slipped the print in a page protector and added it to my album.

i also bought Ali´s new self paced class scrapbook on the road which is awesome by the way! and in that class she shared an idea about using quote strips attached to a transperency sheet. i loved that idea so i used it here. the quote:

what seems possible or reasonable

you truly want and all that is left

is compromise"

so, this (above) is how it looks with the next page beneath it.

the task for march is to focus on something from what we invited with our word in the first post. i chose to focus on my energy by choosing better food and to walk regulary and to surround myself with happy things. to showcase this i made this (above+below) with energy filled photos and colors.

right now i am working on a mid-month update in my album. and this page is still in progress and will be finished tonight. i like to just write down the progress to keep me ontop of the task.

one little word: the restart

so, in reference to my post last week about my word of the year-regret, i hereby present to you the restart!

i was stunned that my new word has come to me just like Ali E described it in her post:

"This year the word light seemed to be trying to catch my attention.

I found it in books, in magazines, in music, in conversations and in quiet moments."

and especially since i publically announced it, it turns up everywhere! it makes me so happy and even more certain that this is the right word!

as i said in my last post, i have included my first entries in my album and the little note i wrote when i had decided to switch words. i love that it is all in there.

i made the album from start again and it felt good!

and since my sweetie Monika send me some of those page protectors, i went ahead and used Ali´s template! i added a few photos of things that encourages me. i can´t wait to get going with our next assignment! oh, and i am about to add some bits and pieces i have found here and there that is all about my word: choice

ps. for those of you wondering, yes i am doing the whole project in english, it does just feel like the right thing to do.

one little word: word regret

i have a bad case of word-regret :) you know i chose the word PLAY as my one little word this year and started the whole ali class thing and everything...but i need to change my word. i still think that if i explain what in the word i like, it´s is still there, but i am going to change it...i am going to change it to :CHOICE as in i need to make more conscious choices to play, let loose, dance have fun etc.

one little word - january

i joined ali edwards online class at big pictures. and this is what i did for the january prompt.

ali suggested we use a 9 slot page protector, but i didn´t find and so i did the prompts in these 4 slot page protector instead. we got a few printables, such as journaling cards for a definition, quotation and thesaurus. i just blinged them up a bit :)

i am looking forward to next months post!
