December ideas | An update

A few posts back I shared 3 diy mini ornaments and the minitree that I put them in. Remember?

Yeah, and since them I have made a few more.

Isn´t that tree so cute?!

The Buddha is a keychain from the beginning, the elefant a toy that got some bling! And the gold ornament is an earring :)

I just wanted to pop in to show you that :)

From pin to reality | USA embroidery

In November I started a embroidery project that I can share about now. It was to become a Christmas gift for a friend.

United States embroidery

This pin sparked my itch to make something with a map.

So, I printed the US map on a A4 paper, which later made the whole project a bit complicated, but it turned out fine! I found this site where they have a broad selection of maps to print.
I then used the old trick of parchment paper and pencil to first trace the map over onto the parchment paper. Then I turned it over, traced it again on the backside.

Then finally I began to trace the patterned over to my fabric. I just turned the parchment paper over to the right side and the pencil leaves a great pattern without being to harch.

I am sorry that this picture is a bit blurry. Here it is when I was finished with the embroidery part. I then cut all the loose ends of and ironed it. I knew I really did want to hae it in a hoop, but alas it was to big. So I backed it with some fabric.

I thrifted this hanger and used it to hang the fabric from.
I am super happy about how it turned out and besides the mounting
it is really an easy embroidery project.

Take Twelve | December page

May I present the very last Take Twelve pages!

I have made mostly double pages for this project and I thought I would go out with a bang and made 2 landscape 8.5"x11" pages.
I used my photo mosaics I shared in my other post and printed them out just as. Then I mounted them on the white cardstock.
Simple as that!

Thank you Ella Publishing for having me as a member of the Take Twelve Team for 2012! It has been so much fun!

December Daily | first update

Here is my first update about my December daily project.
I have been sharing on Instagram when I have finished a page.

I have used some glitter, washi and some paper embellishments in this book.

Keeping it super simple.

I love how thick it is becoming already.

December ideas | Personalized ornaments

I thrifted Christmas ornaments that in this case were white. I wanted to make some personal ornaments as a gift for a friend.

Enter letter stickers! I simply added each family members intial to the oranments. These American Crafts foam thickers worked super well for this!

I also added a snowflake to the back and some silvery thread.

This box is one from Tim Holtz.

Here is just another example of a ornament I did for another family. These make such an easy and cute gift. And it takes like minutes to make them!
