From pin to reality | Chalkboard banner

Here I am with another from pin to reality post! if you are a new reader, this is where i actually use the inspiration i get over at Pinterest and do something :)
i have this posts inspiration in my Crafts folder.

Pinned Image

ok, when i saw these chalkboard banners i thought i´d give it a try. i had some cardboard banners from Maya road in my stash and i used them to paint the black chalkboard paint on.

i also wanted to use this cute yellow fabric i bought at a thriftstore a while ago. i cut strips of the fabric long enough for it to hold the banner. snip, snip!

i think i will use them for my daughters birthday that is coming up on the 31st!

it turned out quite cute, i think!

tip: if you find yourself without any premade banners you can paint, just use a cereal package or something else that is sturdy enough!

Celebrating 13 | a new project!

on August 31st i have been a mother for 13 years. i´m just going to let that sit with you for a moment...

yeah, i know! anyway, i wanted to make something fun to celebrate that fact. and what is better than a random kindness project?!!

it is just a fun project where i have made 13 cards (and that got me to use up some of my scraps!) that i am going to send out to some of you. i am not going to say who i am sending them to, but if you don´t get one that does not mean i don´t love you ;)

Project Life | week 31

i didn´t think i would get photos enough to fill a aspread this week, so i tried the bigger photo thing. turns out i did have a few more stories :)

i did however have a lack of words this week. so the journaling is just the essentials really.

we got our new mower sunday and my husband seems to really like to mow the grass all of a sudden :)

in a house with 2 dogs and 3 cats you are never alone:)

my daughter took a photo of the tent she spend two nights in with friends.

And Dixon tried to make me happy while i was sad this week.

i wanted to include that top left photo (that was actually my photo of the week for the 52 photos in 52 weeks project!) but i hadn´t the strength to journal, i just added the letter stickers that says; fight on.

my garden has been a saving grace this week.

we have watched alot of the olympics.

and my daughter is so in love with our Martha :)

i hope that i have more power and feel more energetic this week!

From pin to reality | Clay jewellery

this post is a jewellery one! i am always on the lookout for cool ways to make simple and affordable things to wear.

Salt dough painted silver. Could be great, when properly sealed, as charms and pendants and would feel much nice than plastic versions (fimo etc).

this pin goes to a post that uses salt dough and then is painted with silver paint. i was going to try that way, but then i found some silver colored Fimo clay.

i used all sorts of paper stamps to make patterns and write letters.
my daughter made a few too.

i put everything the oven for a few minutes and then it hardend.

i played a bit with the different pieces and am happy with the result! Fimo clay is such a fun way to play with clay since it is easy to work with and since it is really durable it is a fun way to let your kids make ornaments and gifts.

that is is :)
