sunday senses

Starting today I am going to list Sunday senses every Sunday. In that I will recap my week through 5 senses. (I am borrowing the idea from here)

Touch: This week has been all about petting my animals. A lot. I always show and give our pets a lot of affection, but this week has been a little different. When Rocky came into our lives we understood that he needed a lot of attention and affection. So of course we gave him that. And sure enough he appreciated it to it´s fullest. Showing it laying on his back across our bed when we woke up the first day!

Sight: It has been a lot of the color green in my sight the last week. Everything in nature is so green here right now. It has been raining for weeks and now the last week has been sunshine. Everything just bursts out in wonderful green!

Smell: Right now I am smelling my husbands wonderful cooking. Yum for roasted spareribs! Otherwise it has been those wonderful summer rains smelling divine.

Taste: Unfortunately I love chocolate all to much! I have tasted some yummy chocolate this week. Nothing fancy, just been indulging in goodies.

Sound: The horrible sound of my husband being sad because we had to give the dog back to the shelter… He is one of those manly mans if you know what I mean. His manlyhood means so much to him and he rarely cries. But this week he did…

i am back

so we are back from our long weekend in Gothenburg with my mom and my MIL and FIL. It was nice to come away, as usual but it was sooo sticky hot it wasn´t even nice.

I am sad (very sad) to tell you that we no longer are a 3 dog family... we just had to unfortunatly give Rocky back to the animal shelter. it was so sad, but it was just not working out with the cat and we saw some tendences to guard all to much. Poor little thing we already loved him so much. it was so very hard for us to decide to give him back, but we couldn´t risk anything to happen to anyone in our family. we are keeping in touch with the shelter to find out what happens to the little guy.

...

we had the time to do lot´s of things while away for the weekend.

monday mosiac

I went blog hopping last night and among a few others I found this blog to be very interesting. I know this girls scrapbooking stuff from SIS and she is very talented I think. Anyway the most inspiring thing on that blog was her fabulous Ranunculus mosaic. I loved it! And I too love that flower so much. I just had to make my own!

Doesn´t it just make you happy?! I totally forgot to catch the credits but these all come from a search I did writing: ranuculus in the search all photos bar at flickr.com

We just decided to make a mini trip to Gothenburg over the weekend (leaving wednseday) and I totally would enjoy that. I am so bringing my camera with me because I need some new photos to work with! We are going to meet family and have some relaxing times.

Oh, before I forget I did take out the sewing machine yesterday! Yay me! I intended to make some new pot holders and I acctually did! I also made a holder for my daughters Nintendo DS. I used some of her old to short jeans that had this cute floral pattern on the bottom of the leg. I just mesured (not very correctly the first time!) and sewed it all together, attached a ribbon and Voila!

Oh, and a Rocky update: He is home :) He is melting our hearts everyday :) He loves to chase butterflies :)

And one of my princess

That is all from warm and sunny Sweden today....over and out...

sunday news

May I introduce the latest member of our family; Rocky!

Rocky is a rottveiler at age 8 months who really needed a new home. As people know we have taken care of 2 other dogs from the animal shelter before they asked us if we were able to take in another one… Well, my first reaction was NO! I thought that it is more than enough to have 2 dogs and a cat who thinks he is a dog. And I would have considered it if it was a smaller dog in question. But a big dog like that, oh no! But soft hearted as I am I agreed to meet him. Mind you my husband and daughter had already made up their minds, which were saying YES YES YES! So, we met and he gets along great with the other 2 dogs and also my daughter (which is very important to us!) It was a BIG dog who is still very puppy-like and very sweet. My heart melted of course! And we brought him home to test him out in our home environment for a few days. And well, he seems to be staying…
My entire family is very animal loving and loves to look at animal tv-shows and documentaries. We have stumbled over a few animals that makes our hearts melt and ache. We would gladly take care of each and every dog or cat in our animal shelter, but we can of course. Have you taken care of an animal? No? But you have always wanted a dog or a cat? Then go visit your local animal shelters website today and check it out. Maybe your animal is just sitting there waiting for you. It has to be said that some of the animals in such shelters have been abused and mistreated so they have problems...it is not going to always be easy.

The very same day that we met Rocky (oh, just look at that sweet face!) I also went to IKEA. Yay! One of my favourite places. I had an idea in my head for a while about using fabric instead of patterned paper on my scrapbook layouts. So, I picked up some scraps of a few different fabrics and went home to begin to create! This is what I have done until now and it is really fun so I will surely make a few more.

If you have noticed, the little poll I have about me opening a online store a lá etsy has ended. I know that it is not scientific because I had only 5 voters but as I can see the felt items are in the top. Good because that is what I thought too! The store idea is still just that, an idea, so I am not making any promises.

I am leaving you with the link to one of the funniest places I know right now. Go play with your photos here.

august already!

i can´t belive how fast this summer has gone by! But I guess that is really the case every year :) So now I am uploading layouts from my "from august" folder on my computer.

I didn´t blog yesterday because...are you ready for this?.....by God we had sun! Yes, I am not kidding you! *sigh* finally... So my daughter convinced me to go over to the pool. Then came the clouds :) anyway the kids had fun! I had my camera with me and belive me or not i managed to miss her jumping in the pool EVERYTIME! Oh, well that´s a story too isn´t it!

While I was out walking my daily walk I glanced down on my trusted dog Sadie. Then it just hit me that she is the only one who is really knowing how to always comfort me. I have had a cuple of really rough years and she has really been there almost the entire time. Isn´t it fantastic how animals just know? without words the just know. So, I have done alot of Sadie& me layouts lately.

Since it is the first today, I am just now going through the Garden over at 2peas. They always seem to inspire me in all sorts of ways. Here are a few of my favorites:

Emilys "maximize your letter stickers" always good to get ideas on how to use those ZXY and how to get more A´s :)

I will have to finally try this masking thing really.

Jennifer made some really cute butterfly cards.

yep, that´s it for now...out

The other night I was putting some of my newest scrapbook layouts in albums. I took some photos of my album system. Someone emailed me questioning my method. I recently switched from cronical albums i.e i just put every layout after each other just as i made them. Now I changed to have albums for me, me and my husband, my daughter, the pets and one for other people we love. It has worked out really well. especially since i usually take my albums with me to show my mother or so, and now i only bring the ones she would be especially interested in. My album, which i am showing below, consists of 3 different sizes; 8,5*11 (my usual size), 6*12 (my new love) and 4*6 (which is perfect for just pretty photos or other smaller things that i just want to be in the album). I love the layered look.

Finally i am leaving you with my cute daughter...

ok

wow cool that you all commented :) I am closing the comments on the RAK post below now. So, now i have to come up with a cool way to choose who will get a little package from moi! This is fun. I started to pick a few things for the package and it is going to be a little of this and that.

Today was a good day. we took a little roadtrip with my dad to a town nearby to do our monthly food shopping. Well, the food shopping isn´t that fun, but they have a store right next to it with some arts and craft things = Lisa happy! I got some paint, that´s all but it´s fun to look. When we got home my dear husband treated me to dinner at a local resturant. sweet :)

So, now i am here just blogging and checking message boards and other fun stuff. I miss last weekend when SIS had some of the greatest challenges that was so inspiring. I wish they could have another weekend like that.

ok, here is a little list of cool stuff I have found during my "blog-walk":

Sarah is just such a cool thinker. Me and my husband seriously had the discussion on down sizeing and decluttering during our recent vacation. Sarah speaks about that alot on her blog and she and her family has just recently bought a RV and are travelling the country. How cool is that!
"In the Summer of 2005, we were staying in a hotel for 4 weeks for business. We had a small suite that had a bedroom and a little kitchen. I realized while we were there that I was EXTREMELY HAPPY living in a smaller space. I liked knowing where Bella was at all times without searching. I liked that cleaning up only took a few minutes instead of an entire afternoon. It just clicked."
and I love this about decluttering:
>"The state of your home is in direct proportion to the state of your heart/mind. When you have piles of stuff all over your house, your spirit just gets bogged down with all of it whether you know it or not. When you don’t have to worry about moving your STUFF around, cleaning your STUFF, and storing your STUFF…you have a lot more time to spend doing things things that you love and spending time with your family and friends! And that’s what life is all about."

It so makes sense to me.

Miss "hyperstarre" Caroline is one of my faves over at SIS and just looking through her blog makes me happy. She is really an outstanding scrapbooker and is always inspiring me in different ways. And she is an awesome photographer too :) Go check her blog for some yummy layouts!

I love Cheryls latest blog entry. Just go read it and you will understand. And by the way, I love that lo too!

Emma have made a clear album tutorial that is just so good. Today she is showing us page 10 of the album and letting us in on a very personal tragedy.

Carl Honoré is "still dashing around telling everyone how marvelous it is to slow down." :) I love that! But I love it even more that he is writing his new book on childhood in the 21 century. That will be very interesting. If you don´t know what I am talking about I have blogged it here.

I am leaving you with this...my wall a few nights ago...
